There are websites that the US consulates maintain listing the case numbers with their status. I am currently waiting for my H-1B visa petition decision in hyderabad. Below is the link the website maintained by the US consulate in hydererabad. There are similar websites for other US consulates in India
221(g) Refusals - U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad, India (http://hyderabad.usconsulate.gov/221g.html)

221g covers a broad sprectum of pending cases, be it name check or any other administrative processing. I personally was requested additional information that I have submitted about 5 weeks ago. This website is update twice weekly with each case status (pending, awaiting petitioners response, send passport).



Hi All,

I am attending my visa interview next week in one of the Indian consulate. Sometime back I came across a website which lists each persons interview date and there visa status - approved/denied. I am not able to re-collect that link

Does any one has any idea?. Basically that link shows the status of visa interviews conducted.

Ok, to make things complex,

Here is my sample. I just have a TextBox and Label - both bound to a FriendsName Class which implements INotifyPropertyChanged

I have set the UpdateSourceTrigger to PropertyChanged and thus whenever I type something in the TextBox, my Label gets updated then and there.

Now, What I want to do is, I want to have a Button, say Update and when I click that , the data should update the source and thus result the change in the Label. So, its like, after I complete typing in the TextBox, click on the Update Button, the Label should not be updated with the value :D

Hope I am clear :(

I would be really happy if someone help me :)

I did work on J1 part time 19 hours a week on campus while I was a student but I did not mention it.
It's not a problem if you don't mention it cuz you can always explain that it was not professional. BUt again it all depends on your IO.
I had a F/T job 2 years ago and I did not mention it on G325 cuz I did not get W2 for that. Maybe I should have. Oh well I have an interview in less than a month we will see what will happen...

In the instructions to file EAD they say to print name and alien receipt number on the back of the photos.

What number should we write? I-485 receipt number or receipt number for last EAD?

After his remarks, Bush stepped outside on a patio with a view of Camelback Mountain to sign a $34.8 billion bill to fund homeland security. The bill includes $1.2 billion for about 700 miles of fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border, along with vehicle barriers, lighting and infrared cameras to help catch people sneaking across.

But Bush has been saying for months that the country's immigration problems cannot be solved just by tightening border security. U.S. employers need cheap foreign labor, and immigrants will continue to sneak in to take the jobs, Bush said, so Congress should authorize temporary work permits to match those workers with low-paying jobs that other Americans don't want. He also wanted to give citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants already in the United States.

But Republicans in Congress took a tougher stance against immigration and have refused to give Bush the more comprehensive legislation he wanted.

"We'll continue to work with Congress to pass comprehensive immigration reform that secures this border, upholds the laws and honors our nation's proud heritage as a land of immigrants," Bush said just before putting his pen to the bill's paper.

Hi,

My 6 year H1B ends on April 17/2011 with Company A. Company A applied for my PERM on 15th Jan 2010.

Now I am planning to switch a company B(my interview is next week and I think I will clear that interview) to a Permanent JOB. If I get through that Company B. How soon they have to apply for my H1B transfer?

If company B apply PERM on June 2010(due to company B policy), is their any issue to get 7th yr of extension on June 2010 PERM? Or is it possible to apply for 7th year of extension Company A PERM application.

Please respond with your suggestions.

not sure if moving to another state is a option...
but i can think of..
1) cancel the insurance
2) apply for another insurance effective from your return date, cancel the existing insurance.
3) take min liability only
4) see if they can suspend it for 2 months.

My self and my wife both are on H1B. Both are working for different companies.

I filled I 485, EAD and AP through my company, for my self and my wife.

Questions:
1) I am the primary person. After getting the EAD, Is it possible, If my wife can open a consulting company with her name?

2) After opening a consulting company on her name, Is it possible, she can leave her H1B employer and run her own paystubs on her own company.

Your help will be really appreciated. :)

Has anyone requested premium processing of I-140 based on expiry of the sixth year of H1B. My 6th year H1B expires next month and I think I am eligible for premium processing.

You are eligible only if there is *no* other way of extending your H1-B. If your labor certificate is more than 1 year old, then you are not eligible. In that case you can get 1 year extension based on the LC.

Hello All,

I have to fill up the form I-539 for the extension of H4. Because we already applied for I-485, can someone please clarify what we should mention against these questions?

Part 4:
3. Answer the following questions. If you answer "Yes" to any question, please describe the circumstances in detail and explain on a separate sheet(s) of paper.
a. Are you, or any other person included on the application, an applicant for an immigrant visa?

b. Has an immigrant petition ever been filed for you or for any other person included in this application?

c. Has a Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, ever been filed by you or by any other person included in this application?

I am thinking we should say "Yes" to all these questions. But what we say on a separate sheet of paper?

For those who have same problem.
I just come back from local USCIS office. They do not make changes on I-94 any more ( I did show the memo whick is outdated according to the office). Now it's direct mail service. The supervisor of the office confirmed that I do not need file I-102 form if I file I-485 to adjust status, but I do need copies of all my I-94s including the error one. Good luck to anyone.

Hi,

Here is the my status:

- 140 approved(EB3 category)
- I am in 7th year of my H1
- 3year H1 extension is in-process

All of the above with Company-A.

If the 3year H1 is approved, will I be eligible to change job to Company-B and transfer my H1 to Company-B?
Can I take my priority date from my application from Company-A to B?
In what way Company-A can affect my status once I switch to Company-B?
